Thessian nodded, "Aye and we'd best be getting a lead lined safe me thinks."

As the trio exits Thessian winked at the young bakeress "Well your pies must be good for someone to come as far as he did for them. Theres a bit of a mess but nowt a brush and broom wont fix."

As he walks off towards the Marshals office he called back "and I'll be back tomorrow to try some muffin."

"Indeed, an entire room lined with lead could be useful. I will be sure to mention the possibility to the Deacon when we return."

Shulkar adds nothing more when they get outside, and follows Thessian to the marshal's office.

The baker could hardly contain her joy and relief, no matter the cost of reparation. She eagerly wrapped her arms around Thessian, planting a joyful, wet kiss on his cheek. The lingering lips were as likely due to her relief as her own attraction to the heavily muscled man. In a different time, a different place, more may've been shared. Out in public, and with the Coppers and several other bystanders looking on, only the one kiss was given. "You're more than welcome to my muffins!" she said with a wink that meant she wasn't speaking of baked goods.

Meanwhile, the Coppers shrugged and made to enter the business, seeking to ensure that all was in fact safe, muttering something about the incompetence of Church Officials. Their findings were of little consequence to the two marshals, who departed the scene shortly after the Coppers entered. All that remained now, was the report and the headache of writing such a thing.

Back at the Office, just as the two were about to enter, the good Deacon departed from a building across the wide lane. Catching their attention with a wave of his arm, for there was no denying eachother's spotting of the other, the Deacon came over at once. On the porch of the Marshal's office, the Deacon greeted the two with a winded hello. "Success, I trust?" He asked earnestly, his face blotched and red from exertion - he was portly afterall.

"I'd say so, free muffins for live I reckon." Thessian winked at the offical.

Thessian opened the door to the Marshal Offices and held it open for the official "So you have another case for us? Hopefully less intrusive than the last, that one beat the stuffing out of me..."

    **Meanwhile, back at HQ**

Narilka, shortly before the two returned, finally stumbled out of bed and downstairs to the common room. There, she learned that much to her dismay, she had overslept. "What do you mean they left? How long ago? Why didn't anyone wake me?" She rants to some poor guard, or anyone else who happened to know where her two companions had run off to.

With nothing to do but wait for them to return, she grabbed something to eat and sat down to eat. All the while she grumbled curses in various language, because common simply did not have words that fit some of the more colorful ideas she was tossing out. Admittedly, it was only a bakery after all, what could possibly happen that would make an interesting story? But that wasn't the point! It was the principal of the thing...

As they entered the office, Shulkar says, “Success indeed, Deacon. We were just returning to the office to finish the report. Any chance of getting a room lined with lead made inside the office?”

Shulkar waits until they are inside where they can fill out the resolution area of the form before adding, “It was a Pie Fiend, a horrid Baatezu. We defeated it, and the bread beasts it created. It seems there was a strange item that crashed through the roof and embedded itself in the floor of the bakery, which we retrieved. I am uncertain as yet, but I believe the two incidents are connected.”

Noticing Narilka, Shulkar teases her with a wink added, “Well good day to you, sleepyhead. Preparing for the night shift?”

"You!" Narilka stands and points accusingly as he addresses her. "Letting me sleep in like that when you knew I wanted to come along...." she trails off a bit, letting her otherwise well thought out rant slip away unfinished as what he said suddenly hits her. "...Fiend? A pie fiend? What in the hells is that?" If it weren't for the fact he seemed so serious about it, and looks like he had gotten into a fight with a large amount of pastry she'd surely think he was full of it.
"... I think you've got a lot to fill me in about, I suppose I might be able to forgive you then."

The Deacon shook his head, his hands bereft of any complaints as yet. "Nothing aside from those posted already." There was something saccharine about the way he spoke, unsettling and oily - like a politician always seeking to be charming. Following on the heels of the warrior and arcanist, the Deacon made his way into the office. He had averted his gaze from Narilka for now, but only she seemed remotely aware of this detail. Idly, he listened to what was said by the Marshals.

"Fell from the sky..." He murmured, his interest obvious. "Would it... If I may... I mean," He stammered, obviously working out how best to persuade them towards something. "Can I have a wee looksee?" He asked after a momentary pause, regaining his composure in an instant. "It'd give me some incentive towards acquiring a leaden-room..." He purred, ever the politician.

Smiling at the Deacon, Shulkar replies with a shrug, “Of course Deacon. We will get to that soon enough. It has yet to be investigated much. Lets finish the paperwork up while I describe what I can of this demon.”

Turning his attention to Narilka, Shulkar explains all he knows of the demon, then adds with a grin, “Am I forgiven?” He chuckles and makes sure the report is filled out properly, then rises and nods to the Deacon, “Now, I believe it is time to check out what all the fuss was about. Lets go somewhere less public, so we can apply all our combined abilities and knowledge to determining what we can of this mystic meteorite.”

Shulkar goes to a private room and carefully takes the stone disc out of his pack. He first reviews what he might have learned about such things (Arcanist Sage Advice). If he believes it might have some chance of deciphering the runes, he casts Read Magic rite.

Narilka listens intently, trying to decide if he's actually being honest or not. It seemed so...silly! Pie demons? She couldn't help but giggle occasionally during his description, she was sure it was a furious battle, but against pastry...she just couldn't take the whole thing seriously. "Well, I suppose so...but you'll have t explain it all to me, the fight, everything! It'll make a great comedy once I can work out the kinks!"
Naturally, because she is nosey, she'll tag along with him as he examines the item. That and she could throw the deacon further than she trusted him. Something about church officials, particularly high ranking ones, made her skin crawl.
