Exclamation Gauntlet of Death!!!, a deadly chat experience.

Ok folks, I will have days when my 1,000 words are done and I will be bored and in the Golem.

So, with that in mind I have decided to set-up a Chat Gauntlet where your CoD Gladiators can attempt to escape the Circle of Death via the ancient Catacombs below the Arena.

Using your CoD Gladiators, you will attempt to work your way through a Labyrinth of separate rooms, each with its own challenges and twists to the main objectives. Each Dungeon will be set up in stages, with each stage containing multiple rooms (from 3-5)

Inside each monster-filled room there are 2 objectives:

1 Find the Obelisks to open up more rooms
….Each room contains a hidden Obelisk (generally behind a wall/under a monster). Finding and activating the Obelisk opens up the next room in that stage, allowing you to attempt that room instead. Basically you can always start from whatever Obelisks you have found, and take on the rooms at your own sequence. But Obelisks only help you advance through the rooms of 1 stage, they do not open up other stages.

2 Find all Runestones to advance to the next stage
….Each room will also have a clue, which hints at the location of a Special Runestone unique to each room. The Runestones are a little more hidden than the Obelisks, and you need to find each Runestone in each Room of any stage in order to open up the next stage. In addition to opening stages, the individual Runestones all convey power/abilities, ranging from darkvision to eventually higher level effects.

As you search for the Obelisks and Runestones, various monsters set up in each room will try and thwart, Kill, you. These monsters are marked by CR, and each kill you are a part of, will add to your CR-Kill count. So you can try a room over and over, even after finding the Runestones, in order to raise your CR-kills. This allows Gladiators who have already advanced to join/help lesser Gladiators conquer the rooms. The only stipulation is that no Gladiator can try a room he hasn’t found the starting Obelisk for. Some rooms contain other hidden items like potions/temporary enhancements.

    Some other special rules apply:

**On each round, the Players get initiative, and can take their actions in whatever order they wish each round, The Monsters will get 2nd Initiative, and will move/act in their own chosen order. This eliminates init rolls and gives players more tactical options, speeding gameplay.

**The 1st Gladiator(s) to enter any room, get double the CR on their kills(since they have no idea what’s coming)
**Likewise, the 1st Gladiator(s) to acquire "and survive with" the Runestone of any room, gets a special double-kill bonus as well.

**When you enter a room via its Obelisk (i.e. starting a game there), you spawn just as if you were spawning into the arena, with all Hit points/spells/abilities, goods, and special items intact.

**If you are killed mid session you lose all Kill-CR and all items gained from your last respawn. You then lose 10% of your total CR-Kill count if you are in a room you have already completed with that Gladiator. You can re-spawn again from any obelisk you have found in 1 round per level after you died, or at a future time.

Make no mistake, this will not be easy. G.o.D. will kill people.

    Cool

    We've had our 1st victims.

Grynd'l (Tork), Rico (Ana), and Caiden (Aron) all attempted Room1 twice. Both Valiant efforts, but they came up short, ended a bit too...hot

No log was kept so only those there know what to expect. Pray they are with you on your 1st attempt at the G.o.D

Grynd'l (Tork, Rico (Ana), and WorkSlave (Grimtooth) were the 1st to successfully complete room 1 and gain the 1st runestone.

Of course Grimtooth had to take one for the team, but he respawned in time to get his runestone and complete the room.

Grynd'l (Cody), Grodech (Grace), and Caiden (Aron) tried their luck at Room 1

Most escaped with their lives, and Aron finally managed to get his runestone. But Cody and Grace were denied when a Bison went off like Tyson and killed the last Minotaur.

Lesson learned: Keep your mage allies close, keep their offensive spells even closer.
