You all enjoy a good warm meal, Glynadorina’s pointed ears perk up as Marc mentions a bath, “Bath..yes…Ladies first.” She then races up the stairs toward the bathing room.

Grundel lets out a gnomish chuckle, then turns serious again. “The lass is right though. The Count was fearful to speak in front of the Golem. So the question is, where did the golem come from? And why would the Count then request a kobold body?”

“This is all too much for me.” Belle says, putting her plump wrist to her forehead.

“I’m afraid it’s not going to get any easier, My Lady,”
the human Gerard says, putting on the clock Belle had given him. “Those kobolds you killed are going to come up missing. Now they will probably think I did it, but they will still come looking, and they’ll find your hole.”

“He’s right,” the gnome says, “But what about what the Count said? About his basement?”

The chance of a bath to wash off the smell of the rats and kobold is just too much to pass on. As soon as the bath is mentioned I'm off up the stairs for a good clean up.

I initially think how nice it would be to lay back and relax for a while after I've washed. But a mixture of holding the others up from their baths should they want one and getting back to the conversation speeds me up.

Even so, I can't help letting my mind ponder over all the recent developments. Never, even in my wildest thoughts did I imagine that Alsor could be as involved as he clearly is. Now, more than ever, I'm sure that I'll be reunited with him sometime in the not too distant future. But first, I have to finish my work here and help out Belle. I now that I was only committed to helping her with the rats, but I feel that her and Grundel are far from safe now that the hole in her cellar will soon be discovered.

So getting washed and dried as quickly as I can, it's back downstairs to meet up with the others again. "Now, that feels a lot better." I say as I reenter the bar area. "What are we going to do next?" I ask as I look around the assembled characters in the bar.

"I was just about to ask you the same thing, milady," says Xavier, finishing up his meal. "Shall we stick to the plan, and visit the temple, now that Marc has returned safely?"

Through the front window of Belle’s in, you can see one of the Clerics move into the front door of the temple with a hand full of their scaffolding gear. He then appeared again without the gear and put some kind of placard on the door, and disappeared inside again.

“Well this can’t all be coincidence." the gnome grunts, "There was something about that ‘Traveling Bard, and suddenly our Elven lady friend here is his sister. Stuff like that doesn’t just happen. And what in the hells is the Count so afraid of?”

“The Count may know about the Drow?” The human Gerard piped in. “What’s this about his basement? Maybe there are more tunnels leading into that water system? In any case, someone should stay here in case those kobolds come through the hole in Belle here’s basement. With a good sword and a jug of wine I can guard that hole for hours. But if there are more clerics near-by who can help they are worth a visit.”

Marc takes his leave and goes to take his bath now that the elf has returned from upstairs.

The door to the inn then opens and in walks a tall man in armor and a crest almost identical to Xavier’s. The man, obviously a Paladin of the Arm of Hieroneus, notes you all and then asks for a Cleric named Xavier…

    …..

Kerenod moves past the two seemingly ordinary travelers, one was armed the other not so much, one was young. You enter the Inn and see quite a group inside…

There is a plump barmaid, a gnome with one wooden leg, a beautiful and armed she-elf, a large robust human male, a human male Cleric of Heironeus, and another young human male moving up the stairs and out of sight.

The aroma of food is powerful here, and hungering.

Brick leads 'William' into the inn, sitting at a table, with his back to a wall, where he can see the entire room, keeping an eye on the paladin, as well as the group of adventurers.

Another armed human walks in, accompanying a young well-dressed lad. They take a seat at a table near the wall.

“So many customers, why this is my lucky day.”
The plump woman beams, “Welcome strangers, she addresses the three newcomers, I just cooked up some beef if you are interested.1 gold will get you each a room and set of good meals, or just 2sp for this meal, if you are passing through.”

"Indeed we will have some of your beef, it smells delicious." the young human at the table says, "My name is William Karvak, and if you have lodging for our horses I think we could stay."

"Well I got room for 2 horses in the alley, got roof enough for them and plenty of hay."
    the woman replies.

    "Good deal,"
the young man gives her 2 of his last 3 gold pieces. he then eyes the other group, "Good day gentleman, Lady." he nods.

Obviously excited to see another of his own faith (perhaps a bit too excited) Xavier greets the newcomer warmly. "Brother! What brings you here? I am Xavier, the one you seek."

Kerenod moves towards Xavier and pulls up a chair next to him.

"Xavier, excellent. I am Kerenod Bordagant, paladin of the Invincible. I had heard of your new found clerical status, and I decided to come find you to help along on your vision-quest, if you will let me accompany you. What is it that you are doing in Old Mineville?"

"I traveled here to Old Mineville to aid the servants of Pelor with a problem with their temple... but I have since become sidetracked with other mysteries that may be related." Xavier is hesitant to talk too openly about the kobold problem or ther strange behavior of the Count until there are fewer prying ears about.
